Welcome to Dive Into Central Asia. This is the place where we share our love of Central Asia by helping you plan an amazing trip to this part of the world.
Despite the amazing culture and attractions in this part of the world, it is still not visited much – which makes it even more amazing for the visitors that make it!
It can make it harder to plan a trip here though with a lack of good and up-to-date resources. We hope to fix that on this site with current travel information about Central Asia (The Stans!) including articles to inspire you to go as well as articles about how to travel around, where to visit, what to do when you get there and where to stay.
The aim of this site is to provide you with a complete resource for planning all your Central Asia travels as well as the encouragement to go!
We hope this information will be useful to you whether you are a Central Asian planning to visit a neighbouring country or someone visiting from the other side of the world for the first time.
We cover the main countries in Central Asia – Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan – with hopes to include Pakistan and Afghanistan at some point.
Who Are We?
Our names are Sharon and Joshua and we love Central Asia!
We first visited on a backpacking adventure in 2008 and now love exploring this part of the world with our three kids. It’s definitely an experience like no other!
We are Australian but spend as much time as we can exploring the world and helping others do the same.
We love recommending this region as a rewarding destination for tourists who love amazing destinations – especially ones not overrun by tourist hordes. There is just so much to explore and discover in Central Asia, and it’s easy to find something for everyone – whether you want to stay in a ger surrounded by mountains miles from civilisation or are fascinated by the old Silk Route towns in Uzbekistan.
We previously worked as full time family travel bloggers but are happier now just focusing on our love of Central Asia, Malaysia and Germany. We work full-time on our sites along with a team and always aim to share the most useful information possible.
We know how difficult planning travel can be, particularly with a family, so we’re here to help lessen the burden and ensure you have the best time possible in Central Asia.
